Two firefighters were at a West Ottawa supermarket grabbing some food for lunch when they got more than they bargained for. A man in a nearby aisle had collapsed, and bystanders were calling on others in the store for help.
The pair immediately sprang into action. The man was not responsive and showing no vital signs. They began CPR while other firefighters who were outside the store in the truck rushed in and brought a defibrillator and other supplies.
The firefighters administered three shocks to the man. The third revived him and he became responsive and conscious. Paramedics say that the 60-year old man had suffered a heart attack, but he is expected to make a full recovery.
