It was a normal day inside the Culinary Support Center at BYU when all of a sudden workers noticed one of their fellow employees, David Moody, lose consciousness and collapse. The group started CPR immediately, trying hard to get David to breathe on his own. EMTs arrived minutes later and took over until paramedics were able to take Moody to the hospital.
Moody started breathing on his own while being transported to the hospital. He suffers from a heart defect and has had multiple surgeries, but was able to make a full recover less than a week later and was released from the hospital. While he does not remember the events of that day, one thing that’s for sure is he will forever be grateful to his fellow co-workers. The lead paramedic on the scene commended the workers, citing their early intervention and starting compressions right away as the thing that saved Moody’s life.
