Daycare workers and first-responders worked together to save the life of a three-year old boy in Idaho. It was an average day at the Palouse Hills Day School. The children were playing outside on the playground when the boy suddenly collapsed and stopped breathing. Another child alerted the workers and they immediately sprang into action and used their CPR training to begin compressions and breathing on the boy.
Along with CPR, they were able to use a defibrillator to get the child breathing on his own. First responders came shortly after and transported the child to the hospital. It is still unknown what caused the incident, but the boy did have enough energy to fight off the paramedics as they tried to ventilate him.
CPR training is perhaps one of the most invaluable skills we can all learn and benefit from. You never know who might need saving.
