The video clip highlights the guidelines of CPR rescue as defined by the American Heart Association. In the last video, we discussed the technique of chest compressions in CPR. Compressions are absolutely the most important part of CPR. If you can also breathe for the victim, you will help. First, you will always start with 30 compressions followed by 2 breaths. Prior to your two breaths, you will make sure to open the airway by doing the head tilt chin lift method. Then, you will pinch the nose and breathe over the person’s mouth. Give 2 breaths each lasting 1 second, watching the chest rise, as that is your only indication of air entry.
