A group of employees at company called Zeon Corporation in Louisville, Kentucky are being honored by the local fire department after saving the life of a complete stranger who had collapsed outside of their office.
They immediately sprang into action and start compressions while others dialed 911. George Pierce, the victim, was not breathing and did not have a pulse when EMTs arrived at the scene minutes later. But, thanks to the brave and heroic efforts of those bystanders, his chance of survival greatly increased as soon as they began CPR. Pierce made a full recovery after spending 2 weeks in the hospital.
Rob Haberer, the paramedic who responded to the scene, noted that acting quickly is the thing that is most likely to save someone. “We can greatly increase their chance of survival if a bystander is there to help immediately.”
