A woman who was 6-months pregnant gave birth to a baby girl 3 months early. Medical personnel were immediately called, and Larry Mueller, a volunteer firefighter with the Stewartville Fire Department performed life-saving CPR on the tiny infant. In all of his years at the department, he says this child was the smallest person he had ever done CPR on. “The baby fit in the palm of my hand,” he says, “it was not breathing not responding to stimuli so we immediately started CPR.”
The mother and child were rushed to the local hospital. The baby was placed in the neonatal intensive care unit, and is said to be making vast improvements every day.
