16-year old Tyler Crane was in gym class when he collapsed. Lucky for him, track coach Rene Plasencia, football coach Michael Short, weightlifting coach Sean Grove, and assistant principal Marc Wasko all assisted in helping to revive Crane. He made a full recovery and was fitted with a defibrillator.
Meanwhile, the four faculty members accredited with saving Crane’s life were honored by the district’s school board. Tyler and his family were also in attendance and praised them for their heroic actions.
Crane also went on the record as saying that he fully supports the idea that everyone should be trained in CPR. It could save a life.
